November Meeting: 2006 USPAP Changes

The November chapter meeting will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at the L'Olivier Restaurant. David Snook, FASA on 2006 USPAP ChangesASA members are invited to attend the Board of Directors meeting at 5:30 p.m. The Chapter meeting will get underway with a networking mixer at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is at 7:00 p.m. when the guest speaker will be San Francisco Chapter member W. David Snook, FASA, who will talk about 2006 USPAP Changes. The program qualifies for one hour of ASA Continuing Education Credit. Attendance certificates will be distributed during the program. All ASA members are invited. Dinner is $35 per person payable to "ASA"; your check can be brought to the dinner. Please RSVP promptly to Chapter President James E. McCann by email.

W. David Snook, FASAW. David Snook, who is the Director of Collateral Valuation for the Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (Farmer Mac), serves on ASA's national Board of Governors, and has been elected to its College of Fellows. He will discuss the significant changes in USPAP Standards brought about by the deletion of the Departure Rule and the addition of a Scope of Work Rule. Having recently completed a six-year term on the Appraisal Standards Board (ASB) of The Appraisal Foundation, which develops USPAP, he has first-hand knowledge of the changes. Because they affect all appraisers, early reservations are encouraged.
