The Northern California and Nevada members of the American Society of Appraisers (NorCal) are organized geographically into four Chapters (41) and Branches (41A, 41B, 41C), having more than 200 designated and candidate members altogether. An early (1944) member of the American Society of Technical Appraisers, an ASA predecessor, NorCal is one of the oldest and largest multidisciplinary societies of professional appraisers.
Innovative An innovator in service and communication, NorCal was among the first appraisal organizations to establish an Internet website -- an initiative soon followed by our parent society. In 1995, NorCal shared its Internet experience with other chapters and appraisers in a day-long "Online Workshop" at Golden Gate University.
Award-Winning At the ASA International Conference in Toronto, Canada in 1996, our San Francisco Chapter received the President's Trophy for Outstanding Chapter of the Year. At the 1997 and again at the 1998 International Conferences, the Chapter was honored with Best Chapter Newsletter awards.
